mocha dick was a notorious male sperm whale that lived in the pacific ocean in the early 19th century, usually encountered in the waters near the island of mocha, off southern chile. unlike most sperm whales, mocha dick was white, and was the inspiration for melville's 1851 novel moby-dick.[cite]

whales are strange creatures.

"... truly to enjoy bodily warmth, some small part of you must be cold, for there is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself. If you flatter yourself that you are all over comfortable, and have been so a long time, then you cannot be said to be comfortable any more." — Moby-Dick, Ch. 11
