poem about arkansas in the new issue of right hand pointing. this issue was guest edited by howie good. fantastic. arkansas makes me think about football and the children's novel where the red fern grows.

arkansas also makes me think about a dvd i saw a long time ago in a mediaplay before mediaplay went out of business.

"women of the ozarks" sounds like a story i'd like to read/write or see someone else write so i could read maybe.

also - 2 poems in the new issue of spine. spines make me think about bones and knobs of flesh and other things i don't want to think about.

i hope you had a good thanksgiving. i hope you are fat now.

just finished watching waking life. this flick really did it for me. i highly recommend. here's a clip.

i'm 35k words deep into my 'novel/la' - seems like a lot of words. not really sure what to do. afraid to edit. afraid of subconsciously telling a story that's already been told. feel simultaneously encouraged by my own efforts and perturbed by the work ahead.

read tao lin's shoplifting from american apparel. liked it, but somehow liked the idea of it more. can't really/won't explain...don't really have to.

coop renner finally tells me 'yes'

feel hungry. feel good.

new one @ zygote in my coffee - do it.

halloween happened whenever. i dunno. i think my costume selection was motivated by some sort of subconscious form of patriotism - or some latent fixation on the movie toy story - or having something to do with tom wolfe's the right stuff. i have no idea. it could also have something to do with the "american dream" and its associated iconography which (inevitably) resulted in a visual form of blue balls.

i think i will move to peurto rico now. bye.

The inaugural issue of the medulla review is live. I am fortunate enough to have a piece included. The issue is packed with good stuff - checkout J.A. Tyler & Eric Beeny.

Medulla’s editor, Jennifer Hollie Bowles, gives a quick synopsis of each piece of fiction. Have a look here.

Yesterday I made the switch from internet explorer to Firefox. It was something I had been meaning to do for – without exaggeration - probably the past 3 years. I don’t know what inspired my resolve – maybe Halloween.

Southpaw Literary Journal in the UK republished my story, “David Bowie Against the Enemy” in their 3rd issue. I really like the title page:

Ryan Call has a funny post @ html giant.

Now, China can control the weather.

Escapes for smokers @ the LA times.

new issue of decomP is out. read it here.
